Want to share my personal experience related to GLP-1 and uric acid reduction since I think it might help others in a similar situation.

I started my GLP-1 journey in October 2024 at 275 lbs with prediabetes and hypertension. My endocrinologist prescribed semaglutide 0.25mg to start.

Now, 12 months later: I am down 65 lbs, my labs have normalized, and I am off 2 of my 3 medications. The GLP-1 and uric acid aspect specifically was something that made a big difference in my journey.

This community helped me every step of the way.

Just wanted to say — for anyone reading this GLP-1 and uric acid thread who is feeling discouraged: it gets better. The first few weeks are the hardest. Hang in there. 💪

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on GLP-1 and uric acid.

To answer CryptoCarl: I get my labs done through Quest every 3 months.

Quick update: my latest labs came back even better. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Yep. My endo said the same thing about GLP-1 and uric acid.
