Lp(a) on GLP-1 agonists — March 2026

Wanted to share some data with the community since I know we're all about evidence here.

Background: I have been tracking everything meticulously since starting tirz 12 months ago. Here's what I have found regarding lp(a) on glp-1 agonists march 2026.

I'll post my numbers below and would love to see others share theirs too. The more data points we have, the better we can all make informed decisions.

Fair warning — this is a long post. TL;DR at the bottom for those who do not want the full breakdown.

Gonna push back on this one. Lp(a) on GLP-1 agonists March 2026 is not that straightforward in my experience. I have been on this for 18 months and the reality is messier than the trials suggest.

Don't get me wrong — the medication works. But adherence is harder than people admit. We should be honest about that.

This is exactly right. quinn_sf articulated what I have been trying to explain to my friends for months. The Lp(a) on GLP-1 agonists aspect is what made the difference for me.

Clinical perspective on Lp(a) on GLP-1 agonists March 2026:

I have managed ~150 patients on GLP-1 therapy and this topic comes up frequently. What the data shows — and what I see in practice — is that the medication works best as part of a comprehensive approach.

For this specific question, I would recommend: getting comprehensive baseline labs first.

I respect sarah_TO perspective but I think this oversimplifies things a bit. Re: Lp(a) on GLP-1 agonists March — the subgroup analyses show meaningful heterogeneity.

I am not saying sarah_TO wrong entirely — just that the picture is more nuanced than a blanket statement. The SURMOUNT data specifically shows baseline BMI-dependent responses.
